AMHERST - The annual Memorial Day Parade in Amherst has been cancelled because of the forecast of rain.

Instead, all ceremonies will be held at the VFW on Main Street at 10 a.m. where they were held last year. The parade was also cancelled because of rain.

As a member of the Airborne Long-Range Surveillance and Reconnaissance team, he participated in the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Veterans Director Steven Connor, state Rep. Solomon Goldstein-Rose, D-Amherst, and Select Board member Connie Kruger are also scheduled to speak.
